September 7, 2014, 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

Ayurveda offers a pathway for achieving optimum health, defined as a balance of body, mind and senses. In this presentation, Acharya Shunya ji will discuss Ayurvedic strategies to cultivate and maintain a state of mental well-being. Specific topics will include:

  • The three subtle energetic states tamas, rajas and sattva described by the sages of ancient India;
  • The mind's natural inclination toward sattva a clam, clear, focused state of equanimity;
  • Imbalance of the mind caused by unhealthy foods, lifestyle choices and mental habits;
  • Excessive states of tamas and rajas that create distortions of healthy mental functioning; and
  • The gift of healing that comes with recognition of imbalance and firm resolution to dissolve what appear to be static conditions of illness to reveal the balanced qualities of the sattvic mind.
