About Vaidya R. H. Singh
Vaidya R. H. Singh During his four decades at the prestigious Banaras Hindu University, Vaidya Singh was Head of the Department of Ayurveda, and Dean of the Faculty. Subsequently he joined the newly launched Rajasthan Ayurveda University of Jodhpur as its first Vice-Chancellor, before retiring. During his university career, 100 M.D.s in Ayurveda and 35 PhDs graduated under his much sought out guidance. Dr. Singh is currently a consultant on Ayurveda to the Indian Central Government's Department of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha & Homeopathy). Vaidya Singh is a Visiting Faculty member of Vedika Global.

In his most recent publication, Body-Mind-Spirit Integrative Medicine in Ayurveda, Yoga and Nature Cure, Vaidya Singh describes Ayurveda as a health-oriented system of medicine that encompasses the four dimensions of life: physical, mental, social and spiritual. He speaks of Ayurveda as an integrative science that places emphasis on spiritual wellbeing as an important component of swasthya, health, and on the harmony between the individual and the environment. Health, he says, is the inherent nature of life, and the body has an innate capacity towards healing itself. The role of the doctor is to act as nature's assistant.
