The word Vedika means an altar in which in which fire of transformative knowledge blazes. Since the dawn of the Vedic era in India, several thousand years ago, the fire altar, the vedika, has been at the heart of the sage's quest to live in dynamic and elevated harmony with the environment, the elements of nature, fellow human beings, animals, cosmic forces and the divine. So it is a most appropriate image to hold at the heart of an organization that holds traditional knowledge with very contemporary relevance in a very experiential, transformative, and conscious way. And it is also an appropriate image for the study of Ayurveda itself, which has its roots in the Vedic tradition and is first documented in the Atharva Veda.
