Every year, the academic calendar year at Vedika Gurukula begins on January 14th with ritual worship of Sun and Saraswati the goddess of learning, and homage paid to Vedika’s Lineage masters. This is the day every year when the Sun starts on its Northerly course; which according to the Ayurvedic tradition is an auspicious start date for new studies. All new and current students are expected to attend the year’s first class on January 14th, at 6 pm to 9 pm – students are expected to arrive a little before 6 pm.
Classes are held on ongoing Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 pm to 9 pm plus on one weekend a month from 9 am to 5 pm.
This is held on 4th Sunday of every month from 2 pm to 6 pm (except August and December when school is closed)
All 1st year students are expected to attend monthly Public education seminars and information sessions taught by Vedika’s faculty for wider public. Attendance will be taken.
Education within the context of community is also an important hall mark of Vedika’s Gurukula method of education and adds to the accredited hours of the student. Timings are 2 pm to 5 pm.
Participation in 3 all-batch retreats organized by Vedika Gurukula for the benefit of students is mandatory and part of graduation requirement unless explicit written permission for absence with reason for absence is sought before hand, from head of Gurukula.
