This letter is for you to use in times of need. Times when your sorrow, your confusion, your fear have crept into your being like a tangled vine. Times when you have lost your way in the forest and don’t know where to turn. What is being revealed to you are ways to remember who You are – an infinite, blissful, knowing, eternal being. May you cultivate, grow and reap the Gifts that your Inner Garden has had waiting for you all along.
We will begin our journey now. First, follow the path of your natural propensity. One that has been lovingly crafted from lifetimes before. Know your path, your Swadharma, and act according to your duty. Be truly authentic to who You are. And when you find yourself on the battlefield of life, Rise up. Be bold. Do the right action. Act Dharmically within your Swadharma. As V. 45 of our beloved Bhagavad Gita reminds us, “embody actions in the world that do not cause suffering now or in the future.”
Next on our sacred path we will bring in worthy guidelines to live a mindful way of life in order to create inner, spiritual and psychological growth. Remember that what is most important are the internal accomplishments, not material gains. Achieving perfection is not the goal but instead inner growth and clarity are what will illuminate you. Live on the Spiritual Plane and keep in mind always that it is God Herself who will reveal all to you along the way. Your success is in Her hands.
Be clear that the tools of meditation and mantra and ritual help to purify and calm your mind to receive the wisdom of Jnana Yoga. But the Ultimate goal is Inner Freedom. True Spiritual growth to find your way to know your True Self, your Atma. Karma Yoga is our grounding place to discover our serenity, our inner blossoming and truth within the garden of our own being. Anything external provides solely a means to an end.
It is important to acknowledge that the ingredients which compose the world are the three gunas of Rajas, Tamas and Sattva. We want to be free of the desires of these gunas and coexist with them in a conscious way. When we begin to feel that our inner and outer garden is in complete disarray we call upon the sweet nectar, Sattva. An Amrit so divine that we cultivate it with the utmost nurturance and grace through solitude and Satsang, meditation and mantra, through silence and listening and contemplation of the teachings, through reverence and care for our Guru, through the nourishment of food and beauty in our home, our altars, our body, our garden and all of nature. Sattva is the key to the All. When you are feeling uprooted in the earth, overwhelmed and scared, it is the ambrosia of Sattva that we call upon to stabilize us. It aids us in discerning What is Real. And What is not. Who is Real. And Who is not. Our Sattva illumines our True Self with the light of infinite stars. We remain steady, composed and blissful in its presence. Sattva provides the sacred conduit between our journey from Karma Yoga to Jnana Yoga.
When the pairs of opposites encourage more weeds in our field remind yourself that even the Weeds are Flowers. They All bring Beauty and Growth. Rejoice in the gifts that they carry.
Treat these opposites equally with reverence. Be Sakshi. Observe their Beauty. See them as they are because we never know which seed will flower and provide our own Blossoming. Name each bloom in your bouquet. Joy. Sorrow. Gain. Loss. Birth. Death. None shall be resisted. Welcome each and every one and honor their flowering guidance.
Know that nothing is ever excluded on our journey to the Self. Artha’s survival and Kama’s pleasures are welcome in our lives but Dharma and Moksha are the most vital treasures. Dharma is the gift of our Inner Growth, of our Power. To be straightforward, to engage in nonviolence, to be compassionate to self and others. Right thoughts. Right Actions. To be Truth.
When Moksha is called upon to clarify the chaos when the opposite pairs appear, it brings with it a disintegration of the anxiety wreaked upon us. And with the activation of Dharma the cycle ends. Moksha reveals that you are an Independent Pure Self. Within the dawning of this new dimension you will remember that you are the Ultimate Reality. An Infinite Seer of Happiness, Peace, Bliss and Inner Knowingness. Moksha is the path to call upon your own Divine Inner Light to guide you. Recognize the Power that has been within you always. Your path is clear. There is a higher purpose to your Existence. When your Guru reminds you that You are Enough these once foreign words are now understood with clarity. Nothing in your life is random. Nothing is an accident. Nothing can befall you. All are gifts of the Highest Order.
And now Dearest One, here are precious words to live by. May you live your life with these strands of gold intertwined infinitely into your consciousness.
You have a Choice
over Action alone.
never over results
May you not be motivated
by the results of action.
May you not have an attachment towards nonaction.
You have a Choice
over Action alone.
Use this Divine Wisdom. Take Action. Be fearless in your risks. Act with the guiding forces of Dharma and have Karma Yoga and Sattva at your side. Do not hold back. Remember that it is only actions that you can control. Not outcomes. Show up to your Life. Be your Swadharma. Leave the results to Ishwara. Once you know that everything is God then your True Nature will request to know who You are. Your beloved Guru will come forth at the moment that you think all may be lost. She will reveal the seed that has been lying dormant within your heart all along. Your Self is unearthed. Your Intuition can spread her wings. Your mind is now tranquil to connect to the Teachings. You have given up control for your Inner Light to emerge. Stability. Clarity. Unbounded Consciousness.
You are That.
