Acharya Shunya
Acharya Shunya is the founder and spiritual guide of Vedika Global, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit spiritual learning home dedicated to preserving and sharing the wisdom of the Sarayu Parampara through Advaita Vedanta, Bhakti, Karma Yoga, Upasana, and Ayurveda.
As the first woman to formally lead her ancient Vedic lineage from Ayodhya, North India, she carries forward a living tradition of scripture, practice, contemplation, and direct guidance. Through the Vedic Study Circle, she guides sincere seekers across cultures into steady study of the Vedas, Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, and the four yogic pathways as a path of inner freedom.
Her work at Vedika Global is not centered on spiritual consumption, performance, or personality. It is centered on sadhana, self-inquiry, dharma, devotion, and the gradual remembrance of the Self.
A teacher Rooted in Lineage
Acharya Shunya stands in the Sarayu Parampara, an ancient Vedic lineage of yogis, householders, scholars, and realized teachers rooted in Ayodhya. She was trained from childhood by her grandfather and Guru, Baba Ayodhya Nath, whose life embodied disciplined study, direct realization, and service to seekers.

At Vedika Global, she continues this transmission not as inherited belief, but as living wisdom. Her teachings draw from Sanskrit source texts, including the Vedas, Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, and the works of Adi Shankaracharya, while remaining deeply relevant to the struggles and responsibilities of modern life.

She teaches that the purpose of Vedic wisdom is not escape from the world, but freedom within it: clarity in action, steadiness in the mind, devotion in the heart, and knowledge of the Self.

Guiding the Vedic Study Circle

Trained by Her Grandfather and Guru
Acharya Shunya was trained from childhood by her grandfather and Guru, Baba Ayodhyanath — an Advaita scholar, yogi, Ayurveda healer, and sadhu, all held within the life of a deeply revered householder sage. Beloved to her as grandfather and formative to her as teacher, he helped shape the spiritual vision she now carries forward. Baba Ayodhyanath was the son of Acharya Shanti Prakash, the renowned Vedic scholar and author of Adi Bhagavad Gita, through whom the wisdom of the Sarayu Parampara continued across generations.
Guiding the Vedic Study Circle

The Vedic Study Circle is the heart of Vedika Global. Here, Acharya Shunya guides students through the four classical pathways of Vedic awakening: Bhakti, Karma Yoga, Upasana, and Jnana. These are not treated as separate spiritual interests, but as a complete path for purifying action, softening the heart, gathering the mind, and awakening Self-knowledge.Through satsanga, scripture study, chanting, contemplation, reflection, and community, students are invited to become steady seekers rather than passive consumers of spiritual content.Acharya Shunya’s teaching asks for sincerity. It does not promise instant transformation. It honors the slow ripening of the seeker through regular study, daily practice, and inner honesty.
A Nonprofit Spiritual Home
Vedika Global was founded by Acharya Shunya in 2008 as a nonprofit home for authentic Vedic wisdom. Its purpose is to make lineage-based teachings available to sincere seekers while preserving the depth, dignity, and integrity of the tradition.
Under her guidance, Vedika Global has offered education in Ayurveda, Yoga philosophy, Vedanta, Goddess wisdom, and the four yogas. Today, its central focus is the Vedic Study Circle: a living online sangha where seekers from many backgrounds can study, practice, reflect, and grow together.

Vedika Global welcomes students of all religions, cultures, genders, and life stages. What is asked is not outer conformity, but sincerity, humility, discernment, and readiness to walk the path.
The Householder Path to Inner Freedom
Sarayu Parampara is a lineage of grihastha sadhus: householders who lived in the world while remaining inwardly devoted to God, Guru, discipline, and Self-knowledge.

Acharya Shunya was raised in this stream. Her grandfather and Guru, Baba Ayodhya Nath, her great-grandfather Shanti Prakashacharya, and her father Padma Shri Daya Prakash Sinha each embodied dharma while living within worldly responsibilities.

In a time when many seekers cannot leave family, work, aging parents, or social duties behind, this lineage offers a powerful teaching: daily life itself can become the field of sadhana.

Through her life as daughter, life partner, mother, teacher, and lineage-holder, Acharya Shunya teaches that worldly responsibility need not obstruct spiritual awakening; it can become the very ground of it.

Books and Public Teachings

Beyond Vedika Global, Acharya Shunya’s teachings have reached a wider world through her books, public programs, podcasts, and invited teachings at respected spiritual and educational institutions, including Kripalu, Omega, and Stanford.

She is the author of Ayurveda Lifestyle Wisdom, Sovereign Self, and Roar Like a Goddess, and host of the podcast Shadow to Self. These offerings have helped carry Vedic wisdom into contemporary conversations on healing, identity, dharma, Goddess wisdom, and Self-knowledge.

At Vedika Global, these public offerings are honored as extensions of her deeper seat as Acharya, lineage-holder, and guiding teacher of the Vedic Study Circle. In keeping with the nonprofit’s mission, Vedika Global also offers free programs, accessible teachings, and scholarships so that sincere seekers can remain connected to the wisdom of the lineage, regardless of financial circumstance.
Recognition and Service
Acharya Shunya’s work has been recognized by educational, professional, and civic institutions for her contributions to Vedic wisdom, Ayurveda, Yoga, and spiritual education.

Her service has included leadership in Ayurvedic education, public recognition from professional associations and civic bodies, and invited contributions to national and international conversations on Ayurveda and Yoga.

At Vedika Global, these recognitions are held not as personal accolades, but as part of a larger dharma: preserving, protecting, and sharing the wisdom of the lineage with sincerity, accessibility, and spiritual integrity.
